Trapunto Monogram with embroidered wedding date.
This California king size heirloom wedding quilt is made from 365
individual squares, most of which were signed by family and friends at
the wedding reception. Well wishers wrote words of wisdom,
sentimental thoughts and blessings meant to bring joy to the wedding
couple for years to come.
Highlighted in the center is the couple's monogram in Edwardian Script.
The monogram is done in the shaded trapunto style, which makes the
initials subtly stand out. Below the monogram, their wedding date is
embroidered in metallic gold.
The final touches of elegance are added with the celedon and pale pink
inner borders, done in silk, the eggplant velvet outer border and the rope
trim edging all around the quilt. These are the colors that the couple had
highlighted in their wedding ceremony. In each corner of the pink border,
the traditional wedding vows are embroidered.
At the bride's request, elegant creams, beiges and taupes were used for
the interior of the quilt, lending a soft, classic feel to this beauty.
