The Design Process

Because each Celebration Quilt is custom designed for the
recipient, to start the process for your quilt,
 Claudia from Heart to
Heart Celebration Quilts
will telephone you to consult on the
design of your quilt.  The give and take of this conversation will
furnish invaluable information to get the creative juices flowing, and
help define exactly what you want in your quilt.  Then we will sketch
a design for your quilt for your approval.

Obviously, there are some limits to what can go into a quilt, but
really, if you or Claudia can imagine it, it can probably be included.
Some popular items are

  • Copies of photos
  • Scraps of sentimental clothing, blankets or toys
  • Competition ribbons or patches
  • Sports team symbols
  • Collegiate symbols
  • Career symbols
  • Sayings, quotes or dates
  • Symbolic quilt blocks, such as a specific state block or, for
instance, the monkey wrench block for a mechanic

The Purchase Transaction

Typically, once a general design is established, HTH Celebration
Quilts
will provide a price for completion of your quilt along with a
commission agreement for your signature.  Upon receipt of the
signed commission agreement and 50% deposit, Claudia will begin
construction of your
Celebration Quilt.

Prices vary depending on the complexity of the project.  Naturally,
hand stitching on a project adds to its beauty and its value. A full-
size customized art quilt will typically cost in the range of $500 to
$2000.  Baby quilts that are machine quilted and have limited
embroidery or appliqué generally cost $250 - $350.  Simple table
runners or place mats can be purchased for less than $200.

The Finished Heirloom

For that heirloom quality, some of Claudia's specialties that can be
incorporated into your
Celebration Quilt are

Claudia is a little persnickety about her stitching - your
Celebration
Quilt will be of the highest quality in material and workmanship.
Although a label is sewn on the back of the quilt, also included with
each finished product is a beautiful certificate, which elaborates on
the symbolism and  explains the meaning of the elements included.

Here are some examples of personalized touches that were
incorporated.  Full quilt images to the left.  See more in
