Sunshine and Shadow
This mourning quilt was made to commemorate the life of a dear
family pet of many years. The pet's owner had saved the scarves,
ribbons and bows from each trip to the groomer and requested that 2
quilts be made from them, one for her husband and one for her
mother. This one was given to her mother as a Christmas gift.
It is made from 2 inch squares cut from the scarves and arranged in a
watercolor style. A picture of the pet is focused on the upper left with
one of the scarves on which the groomer had put the pet's name
placed underneath . Bows and ribbons highlight the colors and the
theme. (The bows are removable for ease of laundering.)
The border print, furnished by HTH Celebration Quilts is quilted in a
classic curve design . This quilt is machine pieced, appliquéd and
quilted on cotton batting.
